Hi Kirkbyites,
I have just returned from our Melaka gathering.  We
had a very fruitful discussion concerning our 08
Melaka Reunion. I shall leave this alone and let our
secretary Lee Lam Hua to let you know details of our
decisions. Besides the discussion, we had a VERY GOOD
TIME sampling the delicious food in Melaka besides the
lively fun we had in the historical city.

The purpose of this message is to let you know that I
received very generous donations  during this meeting
from those present: totaling RM1,629.00 (pls see attached accounts by clicking on
this link: KR2008 Accounts as of 9 March 2007)

Chairman Lye Yuen Chew (aka LYC) is very pleased with
all these donations received. The Fund now stands at a
very healthy sum of RM3,873.00. He is very optimistic
that more donations are forthcoming and we will be
able to reach his target of RM10,000 before we start
to commit ourselves in making bookings for hotel
accommodation, function hall, etc for our 08 Reunion
and making other miscellaneous payments.  Meanwhile,
we hope that those who have pledged to make donations
will forward their cheques to me.

We tried to open a joint savings account at CIMB in
Melaka but bank policy required us to provide all
sorts of details. We therefore decided to forget this
step. I have informed the committee that I will open a
new savings account & deposit all money received into
this account. If any payments are to be made (upon
authorisation by the Chairman, Secretary and approval
by others in the committee), I shall use my personal
cheques and then claim the amount by withdrawing from
the account. I hope this goes down well with all of
you. However, if anyone is not in favour of this
suggestion, please voice your objection as soon as
possible.

I have updated the Reunion Fund Account up to 9 March
2007. Please see my attachment. Click on the following link:

which opens Sheet 1. Then click on Sheet 2 at the bottom of Sheet 1. I hope that I will be able to continue on to Sheet 3 before too long. Keep your donations coming!!!
